Money Month is a monthly budget you use all through the tax year. Plan an ordinary month, record what really happens, and watch what is left carry forward into a running cash figure. When something changes, stress-test the month.
Your numbers stay on your device. Nothing you type into the tool is uploaded.
Plans are made at the start of the month and real life happens after it. Seeing planned and actual spending side by side against take-home shows what is left to carry forward.
Change the salary and the plan to see what is left. Recording what really happened and what carries forward are in the full tool. Rules for 2026/27. Nothing you move here leaves your device.
Put in pay, pension, student loan and your costs. Take-home is worked out for you, with Child Benefit, or you type your own.
Each month, type what you actually spent. A blank box counts as the plan, so nothing is invented. Tick Finished when the month is done.
What is left, or missing, carries forward month to month, with your saving shown separately and a 12-month look ahead.
See the month if housing costs rise, prices go up, pay falls or an income stops, and how long your cash would cover a gap.
Plan against what really happened for each cost, a yearly bills calendar, and a CSV download of your months.
See the working behind your take-home, the rules your figures are close to, questions people take to an adviser, and the dates that matter.
Your numbers stay on your device, never uploaded. Save a backup file whenever you like, and it stays yours.
Your access covers the tax year you buy in, up to 5 April. For the next tax year you buy again, and that year’s new rules apply.
Screenshots use example figures. You enter your own.
People and households in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, with 1 or 2 incomes from employment, with or without children, who want 1 place to plan the month and see where it really lands.
Not for Scottish taxpayers. Not covered: self-employment, rental or savings income, Universal Credit and other benefits, sick or redundancy pay, employer pension contributions, and bank connections (you type your own figures). The stress test shows what the sums do when something changes. It is not a forecast and does not say what to do.
Your numbers stay in your browser. Save a backup file now and then, because clearing your browser or changing device would otherwise lose your records.
How accurate is it? It uses the UK tax rules published up to the date shown in the tool, checked against official sources and separate calculations. No calculator is 100% accurate, rules can change at a Budget, and results depend on the figures you enter. It is general information, not advice.
Reviews are from verified purchases of the tool.
